The European Union (EU) Head of Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, funded new Kilis State Hospital construction by the EU in Kilis, Migrant Health Centers and Elbeyli made observations on Temporary Shelter Center.
Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut stated that the density of the Syrian refugees will return to normal with the new 300-bed hospital due to the fact that the number of Syrian refugees is higher than Kilis’s own population, “We all understand how important health is in the pandemic conditions we are currently experiencing. Kilis is one of the provinces with the highest number of Syrians compared to its host population. Therefore, health infrastructures also need to be adapted to this large population growth. In this respect, the construction of this 300-bed modern hospital will be a contribution of the European Union to Kilis in terms of health investments. In this context, we have doubled the existing infrastructure in terms of health in Kilis. In fact, such a health investment can be realized thanks to the good cooperation between us and our implementation partners. Council of Europe Development Bank and the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health hospitals in making this application among our partners. As you can see, we do not only transfer money for the construction of this hospital, together with our esteemed partners, we are also trying to invest our energy and ideas. I hope we will meet again in this hospital in a way that is operational in September. ”
Meyer-Landru later visited the Immigrant Health Center and received information from the authorities about the institutions and activities.
